Math Games: Money (decimals to the hundredth)
There are a hundred cents in a dollar, so each dollar is split up into a hundred. This is why we have two decimal places to represent how many cents we have when we record money amounts. (eg. $1.50).
To demonstrate that we have 50 out of a hundred cents, or fifty hundredths, we use the tenths and the hundredths columns after the decimal.
Here are some money math games to help us practice and understand decimals to the hundredth.
